Miscellaneous
Here’s for miscellaneous:
- I think you should listen to 都落ち - ヨルシカ.
- I have a cat named Fore.
Fore being adventurous - At various points in my life, I seriously thought about doing analytic philosophy—that switch has not happened as of now.
- When I go cycling, it’s usually on
East Bay Bike PathFarmington Canal Trail. It (also) has really nice views! - Kendo practitioners use a shinai—a bamboo sword made from four slats—to fight. As an engineering student it was naturally quite fun to see how this works. It bends a lot!
FEM simulation resultsYes, the strike is surprisingly powerful! Shinais actually bend this much in competitions and such. - When I was at UWC Atlantic, we were told that the Bristol Channel, where we kayaked, had the world’s second highest waves. I still don’t know where the first is.
- Through watching anime, I miraculously gained a fragmented, but sizable, set of Japanese knowledge. It was mostly lexical knowledge, and rarely syntactic. Later I found out that people now call this “self-supervised learning”.
